BLUETOOTH CONNECTION TO BMW AUDIO SYSTEM

You can connect the communication systems of the N-Com ranges to the audio systems pre-installed on the BMW.
This way, you will be able to hear all audio signals coming from the motorcycle.

USE BY ITSELF

In order to pair up the B4 system with the BMW K1600 and use your mobile phone, you can carry out two different procedures. Choose the procedure that best suits your needs.

PROCEDURE 1 (RECOMMENDED)

  • Pair up the N-Com B4 system with the audio system of the BMW via Bluetooth
    N.B.: If the pairing up was successful, the display on the BMW will show the message “SUCCESSFUL”
  • Connect the N-Com B4 and the audio system of the BMW by pressing key “alt” for 2 seconds. An acoustic tone in the helmet will confirm that connection has taken place.
  • Pair up the N-Com B4 system with your mobile phone via Bluetooth.
You can now listen to all signals coming from the motorcycle as well as to the instructions coming from the GPS on the motorcycle, and take incoming phone calls in the helmet.
The pair-up procedure needs to be carried out only the first time.

Once the devices have been paired up, you need to follow this procedure every time you ride your motorcycle:

  • Activate the "Bluetooth" on your mobile phone
  • Start the BMW
  • Turn on the B4 system and press key “alt” for 2 seconds to activate the connection with the audio system of the BMW, confirmed on the motorcycle display by a steady dot
  • Activate the “Bluetooth” on the mobile phone and manually connect it (from the mobile phone), to the N-Com B4 system

When following Procedure 1:

  • If you receive GPS instructions while listening to the radio fitted on the BMW, the radio volume is temporarily lowered so that you can hear the directions;
  • Incoming phone calls are managed from the N-Com B4 system

PROCEDURE 2

  • Pair up the N-Com B4 system to the audio system of the BMW via Bluetooth
    N.B.: If the pairing up was successful, the display on the BMW will show the message “SUCCESSFUL”
  • Connect the N-Com B4 and the audio system of the BMW by pressing key “alt” for 2 seconds. An acoustic tone in the helmet will confirm that connection has taken place.
  • Pair up the N-Com B4 system with the GPS via Bluetooth
  • Pair up the GPS with your mobile phone via Bluetooth

  • Activate the “Bluetooth” of the GPS to allow the search of the N-Com B4 system and of the mobile phone previously paired up.

When following Procedure 2:

  • The incoming audio (GPS) has a lower quality since it is transmitted with HFP profile and not A2DP, as in the case of Procedure 1;
  • Incoming phone calls are managed from the GPS;
  • You can display the caller’s name from the GPS display

 

RIDER-PILLION PASSENGER INTERCOM

To connect via Bluetooth in intercom mode with your passenger, proceed as follows:
  • Pair up the Rider’s helmet with the Passenger’s helmet via Bluetooth.
  • Pair up the Rider’s helmet with the audio system on the motorcycle, as described above
  • During the connection to the audio system of the BMW, press key “alt” for 2 seconds on the Rider’s helmet to turn off the connection with the motorcycle
  • On the Rider’s helmet, briefly press the “on” key to turn on the intercom

To re-establish the connection with the audio system of the BMW:
  • Turn off the intercom connection by briefly pressing the “on” key on the Rider’s helmet
  • Turn on the connection to the motorcycle by pressing key “alt” for 2 seconds on the Rider’s helmet
In this configuration, the Rider’s helmet alternate connection to the audio system of the motorcycle and the intercom connection with the Passenger’s helmet.
Alternatively, you can connect two helmets equipped with the N-Com system by following the pair up procedure (please refer to the Instructions Manual) and listen to the audio system of the BMW K1600 using the motorcycle speakers.

USE BY ITSELF

In order to pair up the Bluetooth Kit3 system with the BMW K1600 and use your mobile phone, you can carry out two different procedures. Choose the procedure that best suits your needs.

PROCEDURE 1 (RECOMMENDED)

  • Pair up the N-Com Bluetooth Kit3 system with the audio system of the BMW via Bluetooth

RIDER-PILLION PASSENGER INTERCOM

To connect via Bluetooth in intercom mode with your passenger, proceed as follows:
  • Pair up the Rider’s helmet with the Passenger’s helmet via Bluetooth.
  • Pair up the Rider’s helmet with the audio system on the motorcycle, as described above
  • During the connection to the audio system of the BMW, press key “alt” for 2 seconds on the Rider’s helmet to turn off the connection with the motorcycle
  • On the Rider’s helmet, briefly press the “on” key to turn on the intercom

To re-establish the connection with the audio system of the BMW:
  • Turn off the intercom connection by briefly pressing the “on” key on the Rider’s helmet
  • Turn on the connection to the motorcycle by pressing key “alt” for 2 seconds on the Rider’s helmet
In this configuration, the Rider’s helmet alternate connection to the audio system of the motorcycle and the intercom connection with the Passenger’s helmet.
Alternatively, you can connect two helmets equipped with the N-Com system by following the pair up procedure (please refer to the Instructions Manual) and listen to the audio system of the BMW K1600 using the motorcycle speakers.

If available, intercom connection can be carried out via the Intercom Wire. In this case, the Passenger will also be able to listen to the audio system of the BMW (previously connected via Bluetooth to the Rider’s helmet) through the helmet.

USE BY ITSELF

In order to pair up the BX4 system with the BMW K1600 and use your mobile phone, you can carry out two different procedures. Choose the procedure that best suits your needs.

  • Turn off the intercom connection by briefly pressing the “on” key on the Rider’s helmet;
  • Turn on the connection to the motorcycle by pressing key “+” for 2 seconds on the Rider’s helmet

With this configuration, intercom connection via Bluetooth with the passenger cannot be activated at the same time. To communicate with your passenger, you need to carry out a cable connection using the Intercom Wire
